How to enable and switch to UmgiTab, understand normal platform limitations, and resolve common issues.
Enable on iPhone
- Open the UmgiTab app.
- Go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard.
- Add UmgiTab from the third-party keyboard list.
- Use the globe key in a text field to switch to UmgiTab.
Core typing and Korean handwriting work without Full Access. Find Mio in the system emoji keyboard’s sticker area; in supported conversations, tapping it inserts the sticker directly.
Enable on Android
- Choose Open input method settings in UmgiTab.
- Enable UmgiTab in the system input method list.
- Select it using the system keyboard switcher while typing.
Menu names vary by manufacturer and Android version.
Keyboard gestures
- Swipe horizontally to change keyboard pages.
- Swipe vertically to switch between Dubeolsik, Cheonjiin, QWERTY, and English 9-key.
- Use the move handle to switch between left- and right-handed positions.
- Hold Space and drag sideways to move the cursor.
- On English 9-key, press the same number key repeatedly to cycle letters.
Troubleshooting
Secure fields or phone pads
iOS may switch to the system keyboard in these fields. This is normal platform behavior and UmgiTab does not try to bypass it.
Missing in one app
An app can block custom keyboards. Try another standard text field.
Hidden in Android Emulator
An attached physical keyboard may hide the on-screen keyboard. Enable showing the on-screen keyboard while a physical keyboard is active.
Settings are not reflected
Save settings in UmgiTab, close the text field, and open it again. If the problem continues, confirm that UmgiTab is enabled in the system keyboard list.
Email support
Support is available in Korean and English.
Do not send passwords, PINs, one-time codes, actual typed content, or screenshots containing personal information.
